The 2016 Lacoste-Borie is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, cropped at 44 hectoliters per hectare. It has a clean and precise bouquet, not as complex as some of its peers, yet with boldly enjoyable raspberry and blackcurrant leaf with cedar hint. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, slightly dry tannin on the entry, hints of dark chocolate interlacing the black fruit with a touch of cracked black pepper on the finish. Rated 90 WA. trade
A superb 2nd label of Ch. Grand Puy-Lacoste. It has a pleasant bouquet of blackberry, iodine and violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a graphite-tinged entry. Supple and quite approachable, this is well-balanced with good acidity and some oakiness on the finish, sure to smoothen in time. A superb Pauillac, on our Somm's pick list! Drink 2021-2035. Get yours, before they vanish! 7Wines
